Laura first engaged on our Employment Support LIFT Programme in June 2016, when she was in the process of being transferred from ESA to JSA having been on ESA for 2 years after suffering a stroke. Laura started with Môn CF when we were in the process of offering an NHS Training Programme. It was very early days for Laura but she was keen to attend this and our Fundamental Training Courses. Laura has been with the programme for a year now and although her journey hasn't always been a smooth ride she has still managed to keep a positive attitude towards the programme and has completed the following:

  • Confidence Building and Interview Skills Agored Cymru Entry Level 3 / Level 1 – April 2017
  • Mental Health First Aid (Wales) Training in Mind – April 2017
  • Stress Awareness – April 2017
  • Money Guidance Bootcamp – March 2017
  • Driving – The True Costs of Owning a Car Awareness Course – February 2017
  • Principles of Manual Handling QA Level 2 Award (QCF) – November 2016

    • BCUHB Orientation 2 Day Programme July 2016

Laura is currently attending Driving Theory Sessions with Môn CF and hopes to pass her theory test so she can begin driving lessons. As well as this, Laura has just completed a 6 week Work Placement with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board at Ysbyty Penrhos Stanley. Laura was working in Reception in an Administration role and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was made to feel very welcome; she was over the moon when she was presented with flowers and chocolates on her last day from the Staff who wanted to show their appreciation of the work Laura did for them. Laura is currently looking for vacancies within the NHS with a hope to obtaining a position within Administration.
