Why did you come to Môn CF?

I came to Môn CF after being referred to them by Amlwch Jobcentre Plus. I was interested in finding out what they had on offer, and I was hoping to get support to find a job, increase my self-confidence, and make progress towards my long-term goal of working in the NHS.

Did you do any training?

Yes, I completed a number of courses through Môn CF, including Paediatric First Aid, Health & Safety in the Workplace and Customer Service Skills. I also took part in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s ‘Step into Work’ programme, which gave me an opportunity to access NHS training courses, both in person and online. I passed my driving theory test and am now receiving practical lessons through Môn CF’s ‘Journey to Work’ project.

Did you do any volunteering or work experience?

Not yet, but I’ll soon be starting a work placement within the NHS as part of the ‘Step into Work’ programme.

What are you doing now?

I am currently working sixteen hours a week as a barmaid in a local pub, and I’m attending college to complete GCSEs in English, Welsh and Maths. I hope to continue working with Môn CF through their new in-work support programme so that I can make further progress towards my end goal of having a career in the NHS.

What do you think is the best thing about Môn CF?

Everything! They offer the right support from the beginning of your journey with them to the end. I’ve been with Môn CF for around ten months, but it feels like much longer because I feel so comfortable with them.
