Why did you come to Môn CF?
I moved to Holyhead from Poland in 2014 and was looking for work. My friend who had already been to Môn CF recommended them to me.
Did you do any training?
Yes, I did quite a few courses: Fire Safety, Health & Safety in the Workplace, Food Safety in Catering, Emergency First Aid at Work, and Paediatric First Aid. I also took part in the Journey to Work project and passed my driving theory test first time. I’m now having driving lessons through Môn CF which are going well. While I was looking for work I also found it useful to go to the Job Club in the Pod and to attend the Confidence Building & Interview Skills courses there.
Did you do any volunteering or work experience?
Yes, I completed Môn CF’s ‘Get Into Hospitality’ programme at the Trearddur Bay Hotel, where I was able to gain experience in several different areas of the hospitality industry. I also had a work trial with B&M in Holyhead which gave me an insight into retail work.
What are you doing now?
I’m working as a Play Assistant with Anglesey Childcare Providers. I’m really enjoying it and I hope to stay there as long as I can!
What do you think is the best thing about Môn CF?
I was struggling to find work until I went to Môn CF, but they helped me to build my confidence and offered me courses and work experience. It was easier to find a job thanks to them.
