Alison GriffithsWhy did you come to Môn CF?

I came to Môn CF by applying through the Indeed website for a vacancy they had on offer at their Training Academy. My application wasn't successful, but they contacted me with information on how they could help me back into work through one of their Employment Support programmes.

Did you do any training?

Yes, I attended a variety of courses both at the Training Academy in Holyhead and Parys Training in Amlwch, including Site Safety Plus, Confidence Building and Interview Skills.

Did you do any volunteering or work experience?

I had applied for a job in Argos and attended the first round of interviews. While I was waiting for my second interview and driving assessment, my Mentor at Môn CF phoned me to tell me there was temporary work available as a delivery driver for Becws Môn. The timing was perfect, as I was able to refresh my LGV driving skills during that week before taking the Argos driving test – which I passed with flying colours!

What are you doing now?

I'm now an Argos Fast Track Delivery Driver, delivering parcels all around Anglesey. The work is varied and interesting, and I get to meet some fascinating characters along the way. My employer has given me additional duties to carry out when I'm not out in the van, including working in the Stock Dispatch department and on the shop floor. I'm really enjoying my job, and I think Argos is a great company to work for.

What do you think is the best thing about Môn CF?

The best thing about Môn CF in my opinion is that they understand how being out of work can affect people. I was at a low point when I first signed up with them, but I had regular catch-ups with my Mentor which always made me feel more positive about finding employment.
