Ian come to Communities First in August this year, he had recently finished 6th form completing a course in Business and ICT. He was unsure what job he wished to go into but wanted to find work to fill a gap in education that he planned to take. Ian had no CV.
He met on a weekly basis with his employment mentor who made a plan to move forward. Firstly, they worked together writing up a new CV to use in applying for jobs. Ian was also not in receipt of any benefits and therefore had no financial incomings. Georgia assisted Ian in his online application to Universal Job Match.
Ian was happy to work within various working sectors such as Retail, Hospitality, and construction. Ian had no work experience in any of the above and therefore Môn CF enrolled Ian on to a Customer Service based course. Whilst on this course, Ian learned about the importance of good customer services skills, handling telephone complaints, effectively dealing with customer complaints, and also has the chance to assess local businesses as ‘mystery shoppers’.
Ian also attended various courses at Môn CF’s training academy. Gaining a qualification in Food Hygiene and Fire Safety.
Ian also had the opportunity to meet part of the management team from Tesco for an informal chat at Môn CF’s POD, in anticipation for upcoming Temporary Seasonal vacancies.
Ian applied for a Festive Colleague vacancy where he has now been successful in obtaining a job!

Well Done Ian!!
Ian says “You have been a big help with writing my CV, the courses I went on where helpful and help finding job opportunities has been great!”
