Kelsey approached Môn CF in January this year seeking support to pursue a career in childcare. Her LIFT mentor learnt that she had started an NVQ Level 2 in the past but had not completed it. As a young mum returning to the labour market after more than four years, she was evidently wary and nervous. However, she agreed to try our Fire Safety course, which proved to be the turning point – her confidence soared and she became keen to find out more about what the LIFT programme could offer.
Kelsey signed up for Môn CF’s 10 Week Childcare Programme. She completed a series of short courses, including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Safety, plus two Play Work units accredited by Agored Cymru. Kelsey’s tutors praised her commitment, positive attitude and focus, and the quality of her Play Work portfolio was outstanding. She also volunteered in KidzInk childcare facility three times a week, where she made a lasting impression on staff and children alike.
Kelsey has since undertaken a Jobs Growth Wales opportunity with Midshire Catering – the 100th job for LIFT on Anglesey! Well done Kelsey.
