Why did you come to Môn CF?

I approached Môn CF for support to find work in the Construction industry. I had some experience of that type of work, but I didn’t have the CSCS card I needed to work on site, and I’d heard that Môn CF could help people to retrain for new careers.

Did you do any training?

Yes, my Employment Support Mentor put me on a one-day IOSH Working Safely course and booked me onto weekly training sessions where I prepared for the Health, Safety and Environment test. With the help of these sessions I passed the test first time and my Mentor was able to order my CSCS card. When I came to Môn CF I’d already passed my driving theory test, but they gave me practical lessons which took me another step closer to passing my driving test.

Did you do any volunteering or work experience?

No, but my Mentor helped me to create a CV and apply for jobs. She told me about an opportunity with Plas Property Management through Môn CF; I applied for it, and the rest is history!

What are you doing now?

I work for Plas Property Management, based in Bryngwran, as a General Labourer, working on building sites and property maintenance jobs. I feel that I’ve fitted in well and am making good progress. I’m hoping to gain further qualifications relevant to my role and to advance my career within the building trade.

What do you think is the best thing about Môn CF?

Môn CF made me feel valued and gave me the confidence and skills to start a new career.
